Andrew Michael Sotiriou

is an autism advocate and an artist who, among other pursuits, crafts narrative that conveys the lived reality of autism. This central focus has been largely informed by his having a severely autistic brother. Andrew Michael has formally trained as a visual artist for almost a decade, completing programs of study at Cooper Union and Yale, the latter of which he graduated from in 2013 with a BA in American Studies. In addition to years spent as a painter, draftsman, and writer, Andrew Michael is a budding filmmaker. His film work is an outgrowth of the abstracted techniques he has developed during his aesthetic and literary training.

"The samples he submitted were honest in their approach, unafraid to explore confused emotions, indicative of a young artist who is socially, as well as aesthetically, conscious."
